The FreeDivers journey began with the patented integrated rail system for noise reduction and accuracy. Having started diving in 1990, he is no stranger to the sport and lifestyle of spearfishing and is a very active member in the diving community.

When his diving career started he was subjected to what was available, but soon realised that it wasn't the right gear for him. This dissatisfaction with the available gear was the spark that led to the first development of his patented rail.

Started in 1997, the brand of Freedivers has been a major force behind the growth of spearfishing in the South African waters. With thirteen national champions and countless Springbok divers backing Freedivers, they are undoubtedly one of the best brands in the world.
